The story behind the coin
The blossom side carries the country name and the denomination in Japanese characters. The other side presents a large 100 and the era date 昭和42年, corresponding to 1967. For this virtual toss, the blossoms are heads and the numeral side is tails. The original photos use German front/back names; our explicit side labels keep the choice unambiguous.
