The story behind the coin
Anthony de Francisci designed the Peace dollar after a competition for a design emblematic of peace. The coin was struck from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935. This photographed specimen dates to 1921 and belongs to the National Numismatic Collection.
