The story behind the coin
This dated 1908 coin pairs a right-facing Marianne portrait with a rooster. The reverse places the denomination around the bird and the date below it. Both sides were taken from a single source photograph, preserving the matched version. The source identifies this specimen as a gold-and-copper alloy coin.
