The story behind the coin
North Lincolnshire Museum records this find as a 1918 two-anna coin of British India, under PAS record NLM-A01F4E. The square outline has rounded corners. George V appears within a circular inscription, with the date split across the sides and INDIA below. The other face places 2 ANNAS in a central square with additional scripts around it. This display retains the find’s worn reddish surface; no portrait or lettering has been reconstructed.
