The story behind the coin

This coin pairs the legend NAPOLEONE IMPERATORE E RE with REGNO D’ITALIA on the reverse. The portrait side shows 1811 and an M mint mark; the other side places 5 LIRE beneath an elaborate crowned coat of arms. Both faces come from the same paired photograph, retaining the worn silver surface.

Which side is heads?

Heads
Napoleon facing right, the date 1811 and M below.
Tails
A crowned coat of arms surrounded by drapery, REGNO D’ITALIA and 5 LIRE.

A different coin. The same fair toss.

The artwork changes, but every virtual toss still has a 50/50 chance of heads or tails. We simulate the movement; the result is chosen independently. This is not a simulation of the physical balance of a historical coin.
