The story behind the coin
The source identifies the portrait as Admiral Yi Sun-sin. 백원 appears on either side of the portrait to state the hundred-won value in Korean. The other face places 2008 above a large 100 and 한국은행 below, within a beaded border. The two sides are cropped from one paired coin photograph credited to cgb; no lettering or surface detail has been recreated.
