The story behind the coin

The 2006 Colorado quarter features a mountain landscape with evergreens below the peaks. A curved banner reads COLORFUL COLORADO. The coin itself shows 1876 above the scene and 2006 below it; the two dates refer to statehood and issue year respectively. This is a circulating commemorative 25-cent design. The images are the Mint’s uncirculated examples, paired by issue from its official page; they do not document a single worn coin taken from circulation.

Which side is heads?
